ROMANTIC ZONE

VIBRANCY, CULINARY DELIGHTS & DIVERSITY

The Romantic Zone  (Zona Romántica), is just south of Vallarta Centro and is the busiest part of Puerto Vallarta, streets are smaller, there are more shops, cafes, bars and restaurants per square foot here than anywhere else in town. With all its markets, street vendors, boutiques, galleries, live music, and friendly faces, downtown Puerto Vallarta thrives with life. It’s a sheer pleasure to walk about the area leading to Los Muertos Beach, mingle with the locals, admire the colors of the flowers lining every street, or stopping for a freshly squeezed juice or a tamale in one of the many stalls in the area. The neighborhood has a unique vibe which is comparable to London`s Soho district or Greenwich Village in NYC, just with a Mexican twist and on a much smaller scale. Here the signature cobblestone village streets that crossed the Cuale River from the northern downtown, extend into the traditional Mexican part of town and where you really enjoy Vallarta. Romantic zone has the best and the most active nightlife in all the city, with bars and restaurants packed along the historic streets. The parties start at sundown. Everywhere, not just in bars and night clubs. Seeing crowds of people dancing on the streets with the cocktails in their hands is a pretty normal and usual sight. Music comes from trattorias, taverns, whole-in-the-wall food joints, restaurants, bars, and private homes. Singing and dancing until the sunrise is part of daily life for locals and tourists alike. To enter any of the clubs you’ll have to be 18 or over so that you’re solely responsible for bad life choices. LGBT community is widespread and rainbow clubs are everywhere, so feel free to visit even if you don’t recognize yourself in any of the letters, just for the good music, awesome DJ parties, and delish food.
